Day 260 ~ Sep 17 - Z for Zipped

This is the cutest zip that I have ever set my eyes on.... behind my cute little bunny key chain!

ఈ బుల్లి బుజ్జి బన్ని అంటే నాకు చాల చాల చాలా ఇష్టం, నేను ఒంటి పిల్లి రాకాసిలాగా అమెరికాలో అపార్ట్మెంట్ గ్రౌండ్లో తిరిగుతూ ఉండేటప్పుడు ఇది నా తోడుగా ఉండేది.. ఇప్పుడు నా షిప్మెంట్ లో తిరిగి క్షేమంగా నా దెగ్గరకి వచ్చి చేరింది.

I got this bunny at an Easter sale at Michaels and this was my buddy during all my walks in the gated community in Mt. Vernon back in US :).

With this, I come to the end of Alphabet Theme pictures in this blog.. It was fun, challenging because it would have been easy if it had to be random posting but with a theme and to be able to associate an alphabet to life every day is not as it seems and like Usha says, after I am through with the alphabet, a lot more ideas pop up suddenly.

I would love to do one with Telugu alphabets some time, completely related to the village backdrop, exclusively.. maybe I will some time :).

Day 259 ~ Sep 16 - Y for Yellow Blooms

Lovely yellow blossoms that take my breath away in the early morning hours... that lovely combination of colors, yellow and green in an orange, white and blue backdrop of the early morning sky... heaven!

గుత్తులు గుత్తులుగా ఉండే ఈ పచ్చ గన్నేరు పూలు అంటే నాకు చాల ఇష్టం...

Day 258 ~ Sep 15 - X for Xylo'fun'.. :)

This is how kid entertains herself and me with her one-man..err.. one-girl music band!.. a beat here and a beat there..

చిచ్కూ గాడి సంగీత ప్రావీణ్యం, దాంతో నా మీద ప్రయోగాలు :).

Day 257 ~ Sep 14 - W for Watch Lover

I was kind of crazy about watches and had a lot of them at one point, crazy, quirky, kiddish, stylish.. anything will do for me :)..

నాకు ఒకప్పుడు వాచీలంటే పిచ్చి, ఏదంటే లేదు అని అడగొద్దు.. అదేంటే, పిచ్చిల్లో ఒకటి అన్నమాట... అన్ని అందరికి ఇచ్చేయ్యటమో, పారేసుకోవదమో అయ్యాక మిగిలినవి ఇవి అన్నమాట... ఆ నల్ల తోలు వాచీ నా పదో తరగతిలో మా అమ్మ ఇచ్చింది.. HMT వాచీ.. ఆ గోల్డ్ చైను వాచీ నా పెళ్ళికి ఫ్రెండ్ ఇచ్చిన గిఫ్టు.. ఈ బెన్ టెన్ వాచీ నచ్చి తెచ్చుకుంది... ఇప్పుడు ఇవి మాత్రం ఉన్నాయ్ :).

Day 256 ~ Sep 13 - V for Variety

Since Mysore Sandal spells out Quality for soaps in our household, we do get some variety to not get bored of the same scent :) and still get the sandal benefit.

సబ్బు అంటే మైసూరు సాన్డిల్ అని మా అమ్మ గట్టి నమ్మకం... నాకు కూడా ఇష్టమే, దానితో వచ్చే ఈ డబ్బా అంటే కూడా ఇష్టమే.. సబ్బులు వాడేసాక పోపుల పెట్టేలాగా కూడా వాడుకోవచ్చు.. అమెరికాలో నేను అదే వాడేదాన్ని :).

Day 255 ~ Sep 12 - U for Under Covers

This is a very bad habit of mine, keeping change when I  find a cover or a sheet covering something, under the mattress, under table cloth, under tv covers... everywhere and anywhere..!! sigh

నేను చిల్లర ఖర్చు పెట్టను ఎక్కువ, అంతా కలిపి ఒక చోట పోగేసి ఒక గిన్నెలో పడేస్తాను బ్యాగ్ బరువు ఐనప్పుడు.. ఒక్కోసారి ఏ గుడి దెగ్గర కూర్చుని వచ్చావు అని అడిగేంత ఉంటుంది నా దెగ్గర :).

and a quirk to go with it is.. I dont usually spend the change.. if there is a note, it goes first all the change goes into the bag, bowl or any place like this!!!

Day 254 ~ Sep 11 - T for Twinkle Stars...

The radium glow stars attached on the kid's wardrobe in the bedroom..

చిచ్కూ చిన్నప్పుడు వీటిని టింకు టారులు అనేది... కాసేపు లైట్ వేసి పడుకునే ముందు తీసేస్తే ఎంచక్కా టింకు టార్లు చూసుకుంటూ తోరీస్ చెప్పుకుంటూ పడుకోవచ్చు!

Day 253 ~ Sep 10 - S for Shells

picked up the shells from the beach visit and the brown speckled ones are the "gavvalu"or the Indian dice to play traditional games.

గవ్వలు అష్టా చెమ్మ, పరమ పద సోపాన పటము లాంటి ఆటలు ఆడుకోడానికి వాడే వాళ్లము చిన్నప్పుడు.... ఇందులో చిన్ని గవ్వలు నేను అమ్మమ్మ ఆడుకునే వాళ్ళం, జ్ఞాపకంగా దాచుకున్నా.

Day 252 ~ Sep 9 - R for Roses

These beautiful roses are from our garden.. they fill us with so much of happiness within their short lifespan, exemplary.

మా కుండీలలో ఈ రోజు పూసిన పూలు :).

These are also a virtual gift to Vicky Pandu whose 2nd birthday happens to be today and for Sreya who turns 2-1/2 today :).. for lil akka and lil tammu :).

Day 251 ~ Sep 8 - Q for Queued Up

If you are wondering what those tiny animals, insects and sea creatures doing all lined up.. the kid says they are in a queue to board the train you see in the far corner above the rangoli :).

చికు చుకు రైలు వస్తుంది అని కూతలు పెట్టుకుంటూ పాడుకుంటూ తిరుగుతుంది చిచ్కూ ఈ మధ్య, ఈ అనిమల్స్ అన్ని రైలు ఎక్కడానికి క్యు లో నున్చున్నాయ్ :).

Day 250 ~ Sep 7 - P for Pigtails

Love the kids in pigtails, wonder why they are called so :).. time to learn more hairdos :).

చిచ్కూ గాడికి ఎప్పుడు చూసినా అంట కత్తెర ఉండేది చాల రోజులు, ఈ మధ్య అలా వదిలేసాం, ఇప్పుడు మెల్లిగా రెండు పాయలు అల్లెన్త అయ్యింది.. జడలు ముద్దుగానే ఉన్న, అవి వేయించుకోకుండా గంతులు వేసే పిల్లలకి అవి అనవసరమేమో, మన ముచ్చతేనేమో అనిపిస్తుంది ఒక్కోసారి.

Day 249 ~ Sep 6 - O for Outdated

Good old way of listening to songs on the tape recorder, the cassettes, listening to movies on the tape, nostalgic!

టేప్ రికార్డర్ లో పాటలు, సినిమాలు వినడం, చిన్నప్పుడు టీవిలో మ్యూజిక్ చానల్స్ రానప్పటి మాట, మా అమ్మ తెచ్చిన షోలే dialogues cassette ఇంకా చాల మూవీస్  విని విని బట్టీ పట్టేసిన బాపతు జ్ఞాపకం, క్యాసెట్ stuck

ఐపోతే పెంసిలో పెన్నో పెట్టి తిప్పి రీలు లాగడం... అన్నీ జ్ఞాపకాలు మాత్రమె, ఇప్పుడు mp3, deck, ipod ఇవన్ని వచ్చేసాక అవి మరుగున పడిపోయాయి.  రేడియో కూడా ఏదో FM కోసం వాడటం మినహా ఎప్పుడో అతకేక్కిపోఎది.

Day 248 ~ Sep 5 - N for Noise Pollution

Mike facing our home near the local Ganesh Pandal!  Festivals in India bring along a lot of noise along with celebrations... the songs from the mike set all through the day... God!!!

పండగ వస్తే సంతోషం, అది అప్పుడే అయిపోయిందా అని బాధ ఉండడం మామూలే, కాని వినాయక చవితికి దసరాకి ఈ మధ్య నాకు ఎప్పుడు వెల్లిపోతుందా అని బెంగ పట్టేసుకుంటుంది.. మైకు సెట్టు ఒకటి అద్దెకి తెచ్చి, ఊర్లో ఉండే బేవార్సు కుర్రకారు పాటలు మోత మోగించుకుంటూ, చెవులు చిల్లు పడేలాగా చెయ్యటం.. ఇది ఒక ఎత్తైతే సాయంకాలానికి ఆ సందులోని చిన్న పిల్లలందరూ పోగయ్యి పాడే సినిమా బాణీల భక్తీ పాటలు.. చెవుల్లోంచి నెత్తురు కారిపోతుందేమో అనేంత దారుణంగా పిచ్చి కేకల్లాంటి ఆ గానాలాపన విని గుండె నొప్పి వచ్చేస్తుంది నాకైతే.. నాయనో.. విగ్ననాయక వినాయక, గణ నాయక వినాయక అంటూ పండగ కోసం ఎదురు చూసే నేను విసిగించే వినాయక అని వాళ్ళ మైకు సెట్టు పాడైపోవాలని కోరుకున్తున్ననంటే ఏ రేంజ్ లో ఉందొ గోల అర్థం చేసుకోవాలి :(.  భక్తీ మొత్తం పోయి విరక్తి మాత్రం మిగిలింది.

ఊర్లో మొత్తం నాలుగు విగ్రహాలు పెడితే ఒకరు మాత్రం ఐదో రోజు తీసేశారు, నాలుగు వైపుల్లోంచి ఒకటి తగ్గింది అని నేను సంబరం చేసుకున్నాను.

Day 247 ~ Sep 4 - M For Movies

The latest to watch dvds from British Library... I don't quite like their collection and their platinum membership which is a gift to me, I think, is actually a waste considering the options available and my tastes and preferences :(.

సినిమా పిచ్చికి పరాకాష్ట నేను అనుకుంటా, ఎలాంటి సినిమా అయినా ఓపికగా సాంతం చూసి తరించే టైపు. :).  ప్రస్తుతం నేను చూడబోయే సినిమాలు ఇవే..

PS:  Currently exploring British authors and movies courtesy forced membership :).

Day 246 ~ Sep 3 - L For Library System

Wherever I go, there is a library to keep me company... AFP, by far is the best library system that I have seen and used.

ప్రపంచంలో ఎక్కడికి వెళ్ళినా నా తోడుగా ఉన్న నా నేస్తాలు పుస్తకాలు, అక్కడ కొంచెం సర్డుకోగానే నేను వెతుక్కునేది ముందుగా అక్కడ ఉండే లైబ్రరీ కోసం.  ఊర్లో గ్రంధాలయంలో ఇలాంటి కార్డు ఇవ్వరు కాని పుస్తకంలో రాసి తెచ్చుకోవడమే.

Day 245 ~ Sep 2 - K For Kissed

An archived picture from the beach... the sloppiest, most loveliest and best kissers are the kids!

అలా పరుగెత్తుకుంటూ వచ్చి ఎలాంటి కారణం లేకుండా నే అమ్మ అంటే నాకు ఇట్టం అని ముద్దుపెట్టుకుని మళ్ళీ ఏమి పట్టనట్టు వాళ్ళ ఆటల లోకంలోకి వెళ్ళిపోతూ మనని ఇంకో లోకానికి తీసుకుని వెళ్ళిపోతారు పసి పిల్లలు.. సృష్టిలో అన్నిటికంటే తియ్యనిది ఒక పసి బిడ్డ ముద్దేనేమో, ఎంత చింపిరిగా ఉన్నా వాళ్ళలో అందం ఎవరికీ రాదు.

Day 244 ~ Sep 1 - J For Jasmine and Jai Maala

పండగ అంటే ఇల్లంతా పూల వాసన.. రకరకాలు రంగు రంగులు... ఈ వినాయక చవితికి మా గుమ్మం :).

Day 243 ~ August 31 - I for Id Special Dinner

a makeshift dining area in the front yard with a delicious Id special carriage meals from Yasin's home.. yum!

రంజాన్ నెల వచ్చిందంటే పండగ మా అందరికి చిన్నప్పటి నించి హాలీం, సేమియాలు.. కాని ఈ ఊర్లో మటుకు యాసిన్ తెచ్చే ఇంటి దెగ్గర వండిన పలావు :). 

Day 242 ~ August 30 - H For Handmade

I found these trash to treasure handmade vases made with beads and wires.. first one using the glass top of a traditional lamp and the other from a bulb and a bangle as base structures in the collection that I got from the house owner :).

మా చిన్నప్పుడు ఇలాంటివి చాల చూసే వాళ్ళం, చేసేవాళ్ళం కూడా.. వైర్ బుట్టలు అల్లడం, వగైరా , వగైరా.. చాలా ఏళ్ళ తరవాత మొన్న ఇల్లు దులిపేటప్పుడు ఇవి బయట పడ్డాయి.. ఈ రోజుల్లో నాజూకు సోకులు మొదలయ్యాక ఇలాంటివి చేసే ఓపిక, తీరిక, పెట్టుకునే స్థలం ఎవరికీ ఉండట్లేదు.. నేను కూడా ఇప్పుడు వీటిని ఎక్కడ పెట్టాలా అని దీర్గాలోచనలో ఉన్నా.. 

దీపం బుడ్డి మీది గ్లాసు తోటి పూసలు, వైర్, గట్టిగా అల్లి చేసింది కనీసం పాతిక ఏళ్ళ కిందటిది, ఇప్పటికీ చెక్కు చెదరలేదు.

Day 241~ August 29 - G for Ga-Ga Over Parenting!

This and of course the numerous websites that I researched and kept for parenting needs!!! sigh!! little did I know that parenting just happens and not learnt!!

చిచ్కూ పుట్టకముందు అసలు బోలెడు పుస్తకాలు కొనేసుకుని, న్యూస్ లెటర్స్ కి మెయిల్ అడ్రెస్స్లు ఇచ్చేయ్యడం లాంటివి చాల చేసేసుకున్నాను... కాని నేను వీటి అన్నిట్లో నేర్చుకున్నది చాల చాల తక్కువ, తను ఎదుగుతున్న కొద్దీ తను నాకు నేర్పించిందే ఎక్కువ.. అనుకుంటాం కాని స్వయంగా నేర్చుకునేదే ఎక్కువ అని అర్థం అయ్యింది.  కాబట్టి కొత్త తల్లి తండ్రులకి నా అనుభవ పూర్వక సలహా ఏంటి అంటే parenting comes naturally, good to be enthusiastic to learn and seek advise BUT kid's needs vary, our circumstances, societies and individual and collective family behaviors and natures vary, traditions and customs vary so just use your discretion in how much and what you actually want to take from it.

PS: what is the telugu one word for parenting.. pempakam, aalana paalana are for raising the kids but any specific term for PARENTING??? HELP PLS.
