Day 242 ~ August 30 - H For Handmade

I found these trash to treasure handmade vases made with beads and wires.. first one using the glass top of a traditional lamp and the other from a bulb and a bangle as base structures in the collection that I got from the house owner :).

మా చిన్నప్పుడు ఇలాంటివి చాల చూసే వాళ్ళం, చేసేవాళ్ళం కూడా.. వైర్ బుట్టలు అల్లడం, వగైరా , వగైరా.. చాలా ఏళ్ళ తరవాత మొన్న ఇల్లు దులిపేటప్పుడు ఇవి బయట పడ్డాయి.. ఈ రోజుల్లో నాజూకు సోకులు మొదలయ్యాక ఇలాంటివి చేసే ఓపిక, తీరిక, పెట్టుకునే స్థలం ఎవరికీ ఉండట్లేదు.. నేను కూడా ఇప్పుడు వీటిని ఎక్కడ పెట్టాలా అని దీర్గాలోచనలో ఉన్నా.. 

దీపం బుడ్డి మీది గ్లాసు తోటి పూసలు, వైర్, గట్టిగా అల్లి చేసింది కనీసం పాతిక ఏళ్ళ కిందటిది, ఇప్పటికీ చెక్కు చెదరలేదు.

Day 241~ August 29 - G for Ga-Ga Over Parenting!

This and of course the numerous websites that I researched and kept for parenting needs!!! sigh!! little did I know that parenting just happens and not learnt!!

చిచ్కూ పుట్టకముందు అసలు బోలెడు పుస్తకాలు కొనేసుకుని, న్యూస్ లెటర్స్ కి మెయిల్ అడ్రెస్స్లు ఇచ్చేయ్యడం లాంటివి చాల చేసేసుకున్నాను... కాని నేను వీటి అన్నిట్లో నేర్చుకున్నది చాల చాల తక్కువ, తను ఎదుగుతున్న కొద్దీ తను నాకు నేర్పించిందే ఎక్కువ.. అనుకుంటాం కాని స్వయంగా నేర్చుకునేదే ఎక్కువ అని అర్థం అయ్యింది.  కాబట్టి కొత్త తల్లి తండ్రులకి నా అనుభవ పూర్వక సలహా ఏంటి అంటే parenting comes naturally, good to be enthusiastic to learn and seek advise BUT kid's needs vary, our circumstances, societies and individual and collective family behaviors and natures vary, traditions and customs vary so just use your discretion in how much and what you actually want to take from it.

PS: what is the telugu one word for parenting.. pempakam, aalana paalana are for raising the kids but any specific term for PARENTING??? HELP PLS.

Day 240 ~ August 28 - F For Fresh Paint

Freshly painted unused clay pot, waiting to dry up to be painted later on with designs

paint చేసిన తరవాత బాగానే ఉంటుంది కాని చేసేటప్పుడు, ఆ తరవాత బ్రష్లు కడిగేటప్పుడు, దానిని చిచ్కూ ముట్టుకోకుండా చూసేటప్పుడు మాత్రం సినిమా కనపడుతుంది. 

Day 239 ~ August 27 - Enchanting Entrances!

The main door leading to the hall.  Very strong and simple detailing gives it an old world charm.

సామాన్యంగా ఇంటికి ముఖ ద్వారం చాల అందంగా భారీగా ఉండేటట్టు చూసుకుంటారు జనాలు, లోపల ఏమున్న ముందర బయటకి కనిపించేది అదే కదా.. ఈ దర్వాజ నేను పుట్టాక మునుపు చేయిన్చుంటారు, అయినా పీప్ హొలెస్  పెట్టించారు అంటే ఆ కాలానికి ఇది చాలా భారీ కిందే లెక్క.. :).

Day 238 ~ August 26 - D For Dairy Exercise

Churning curd and water to extract butter the traditional way...

చిన్నప్పుడు మా అమ్మమ్మ వాళ్ళ ఇంటి సావిడికి దెగ్గర ఉండే పెద్ద వాసానికి నులక తాడుతోటి  కట్టి ఉంచిన ఒక పెద్ద చల్ల కవ్వం, దాని దెగ్గర బోర్లించిన కుండ ఉండేవి, ఎప్పుడో తప్ప తను ఎక్కువ వాడటం నేను చూడలేదు, చాలీ చాలని బ్రతుకులకి పాడి లేకపోతె వెన్న తియ్యడం ఒక గొప్ప పని.  కుదిరినప్పుడు మటుకు చేసేది తను, చూస్తె భలే అనిపించేది.

The butter gradually separated from the curd starts layering around the vessel and the traditional wooden churner.

ఇప్పుడు అంత దాచి చేసే ఓపిక లేకపోయినా బాగా తరిపి కట్టేసిన గేద పాలు కాచినప్పుడు విపరీతంగా మీగడ కట్టేస్తుంది అది తినేస్తే యమా రుచిగానే ఉంటుంది కాని తరవాత ఒళ్ళు మోసుకోవడం చాల కష్టం అందుకని ఇలా వారానికి రెండు సార్లు పెరుగు మీద మీగడ తీసి వెన్నతీసే కార్యక్రమం.

Finally done and collected and made into a ball of butter.... yum, yum, yum.. I love eating it with pickles and even just like that.

ఇలా ఇంట్లో తీసిన వెన్నతోటి కాచిన నెయ్యి తింటే ఉంటుందీ... కొంచెం కరివేపాకు వేసి నెయ్యి కాచినాక దాని అడుగున అంటిన గోదారికి పోటీలు పడి తినేసే వాళ్ళం.  నాకు మాత్రం పాలు, పెరుగు, నెయ్యి అంటే చాల ఇష్టం కాని వెన్న అంటే మటుకు పడి చస్తా.

PS:  When I complain of layers of fat on the body, you know which layers to blame it on :).

Day 237 ~ August 25 - C For Children Against Corruption

నిన్న సాయంత్రం పనుండి ముదినేపల్లి వెళ్తే అక్కడ రోడ్డు మీద బడి పిల్లలు, ఇంటర్ కాలేజి పిల్లలు, కాన్వెంట్ పిల్లలు అందరు చల్ల బడ్డాక సాయంత్రం నాలుగింటికి ఇలా అన్న జిందాబాద్, we want no corruption అని అరుచుకుంటూ తిరిగారు, ఇందులో వాళ్లకి అర్థం అయ్యింది ఎంతో తెలియదు కాని అలా రోడ్లెంమాట పరుగులు కేకలు, ట్రాఫ్ఫిక్ లో ఆటోలు, బస్సుల మధ్య నడవటాలు, పక్కన టీచర్లు, కొందరు పోలీసులు ఉన్నా కూడా నాకు చాల భయమేసింది.. మూడు నాలుగు తరగతుల పిల్లలు కూడా ఇలా highway మీద తీరడం అస్సలు నచ్చలేదు.

Day 236 ~ August 24 - B for Boxed Lunch

Lunch box picked up by the kid recently at a store and her water bottle.. packed for lunch!!

చిచ్కూ ని బడికి పంపడానికి ముఖ్యమైన కారణం అక్కడి పిల్లల్ని చూసి తను కొంచెం అన్నం తింటుంది అని, అంతకు ముందు నేను వెళ్లి తినిపించి తెచ్చేదాన్ని ఇప్పుడు సారు డబ్బా కట్టి ఇచ్చేస్తే తనే అలవాటు చేసేస్తాను అని చెప్పారు.. రెండు రోజుల నించి... దేవుడా, ఓ మంచి దేవుడా వీడికి తిండి మీద మనసు వెళ్ళే లాగ చూడు తండ్రీ.
