Day 57/Feb 26 ~ Healthy Eating?

with an Indian twist...

ఈ బొమ్మలో ఆకులు అలమలు గట్రా చూసేసి నేను ఇది తినేస్తున్నాను అని భ్రమించేస్తున్నరేమో.. నేను కాదు.. OA .. బరువు నియంత్రణ అనే కార్యక్రమం చేపట్టాడు ఈ మధ్యన, అందులో భాగంగా ఈ తిండి అన్నమాట. 

Day 56/Feb 25 - Blurr!!

This is how I finished cooking lunch for today...

ముందుకు వంగితె కారిపోయే ముక్కు :) దీనితోటి నా వంట.. గృహిణి లక్షణాలు మెల్లిగా వంట బట్టేస్తున్నాయి మరి. 

Day 55/Feb 24 - Pinwheel...

It is still raining and cold but I am just waiting for the spring, the time I like the best in US :)... flowers started showing up already... just waiting for a warmer temperature...

మనం పీల్చే గాలి, మన ప్రాణ వాయువు మనకి కనిపించదు, అది లేని క్షణం మనం లేము.. ఆకుల కదలికలో, ఆ చిరు సవ్వడిలో దాన్ని మనం తెలుసుకోవడమే.  నాకు కాగితం తోటి చేసేవి, చక్రం లాగా తిరిగేవి ఇలాంటివి భలే ఇష్టం, ఆ గాలిని మనకి ఒక ముచ్చటైన రూపంలో చూపెడుతూ.. 

Day 54/Feb 23 - Creative me :)

 Made this highlighter/pen/pencil holder for my reading purposes with a bandini handkerchief and a cup... :).

Day 53/Feb 22 - This Week's Crafts

This being a very short week, the kid being sick and at home.... she has a little lesser craftwork compared to every other week... she loves being to school and I love sending her :).. win-win deal.

Day 52/Feb 21 - Girls!!

and along the same lines, the kid loves to have her nails painted which I keep denying for hands but legs yes... first time since coming to US, she earned these for being good and sharing and playing happily with our cousin's kids.. she keeps her deal and I keep mine :)... she gets to pick the colors she likes :).

Day 51/Feb 20 - Gaajula Mozu..

kid just loves putting on these bangles and playing with them all the time.. something which I do not really have... I remember the time when me and Caps had to sit with her finding all these and selecting and trying and seeing to it that we actually got them all packed... miss you caps!

Day 50/Feb 19 - Greens..

The OA comes up with various dieting plans every other week and must say he has been really successful in getting his weight down... the morning diet is a filling kale, carrot, apple.. or kale, grape, honey combo which he says keeps him full until lunch which again is a liquid diet, butter milk... phew!!!

Day 49/Feb 18 - Old world feel..

just loved this place a lot, the charleston downtown preserving old buildings, tradition, the old world feel, the homes so close to the beach, scary and exciting and breathtaking view at the same time... just loved this small place, yes, I call it small after seeing the huge Georgia and Atlanta :).

Day 48/Feb 17 - A beach visit

since it was very cold with the temperatures just below 0, we decided not to venture out at the real beach but walk around the battery in Charleston a place where the civil war actually started... and we caught a glimpse of a ship, the kid was happy to have her Bandar beach back :)... but sad that she could not run around in the sand, 'cos we could not find any :)

Day 47/Feb 16 - Cousins Meet..

This time around, we drove to South Carolina to meet my cousin and the kids got along well, had a very good long weekend..

Day 46/Feb 15 - Valentines

Sreya loved to have her own bag, which they had made in the classroom to collect her valentines from her friends and drop in hers in theirs...

Day 45/Feb 14 - You are My Sunshine...

and the kids sing you are my sunshine :) a song that really brought tears in my eyes... love you kid.. muuahh and all the kids out there who are so innocent, loving, giving, sharing, caring something that we adults need to learn from...

Day 44/Feb 13 - Guessing...

There was a mail from Ms. Ira that if the parents were to join the party, the kids would be performing a little song recital.. me being me kept asking the kid, what have you been practicing and she just did not tell me what it was... :)

Day 43/Feb 12 - Sa-Ri-Ga-Ma

Fortunately, we found a very good teacher in the same building of our apartment to teach Sreya some music.. just love her voice and the way she deals with the kids!

Day 42/Feb 11 - Indian Treasure

only an Indian staying abroad understands the value of these snacks :), a friend's sister had come from  hamaara des and she sent me these goodies... praanam lechi vacchindi asala :).

Day 41/Feb 10 - Kid's Week at School

The letter B, and reviewing the alphabets :).

Day 40/Feb 9 - Passed on..

When a friend V was moving to Florida, she left behind a few things for Sreya to play with... the kid is yet to learn the scooter and the bicycle is a problem too 'cos she is yet learn to figure out a way around the automatic brakes :)...

Day 39/Feb 8 - Yumm.

Yummy upma made by a close buddy.. just love his cooking and the feel I get when he drops by at our place... Thank you Punju :).

Day 38/Feb 7 - Passion(less) Fruit :(

Trying the new fruit, supposed to be full of vitamin C, good for BP, asthma, etc..

tinte aayasam, tinakapote neerasam stage daati vacchesinaa kooda, appudappudu edokati kottagaa tinaali anipistune undi naaku inkaa :)).. monna Buford Farmers marketki ellinappudu kotta rakaalu tecchaanu, tindaamu anesi, Passion fruit.. yeaha, ohaa, heehaa anukuntoo... pulla roddu naayano, malli inko saari deggaraki kooda raanivvanemo.. manchi aaharam tine manchi buddhi naaku devudu eppudu istaado!!

Day 37/Feb 6 - The week before

 ... the winter theme still goes on... no wonder the kid loves the school...

Day 36/Feb 5 - A Book That Scares Me.. finally :)

Finally, there is one book in the world which kind of scares the hell out of me... need to get used the idea of learning to drive...

Day 35/Feb 4 - Vita(l)mins

Phew... our lives, got having a wholesome meal and supplementing with the stuff over the counter... need to eat better!

The library system rocks.. like I say time and again... these are the kid's bedtime reads... she just loves them..!

Day 32/Feb 1 - Do It Yourself Life

Anything and everything that you need to do in your place... or to be more precise cannot afford to get it done by others, take this tool kit and go for it... something which is a big no for me, but tappadu kadaa..!!!

Day 31/Jan 31 - Marathon Memories

Atlanta Half-marathon, something the OA got into in the years of being alone in US... and I guess it is a thing of past.. looking forward for the kid runs some time soon this year 'cos the kid loves running like her dad.. looks like it is in the genes..
